After a drastic and exhausting sorting of my wardrobe, the observation is clear, I lack the essential basic: beautiful black pants, the chic, the one that dresses in the blink of an eye and that you can marry at will. What a nuisance you will tell me. Too classic! Too granny! Well no, I want to prove to you that black pants can be extremely trendy and easy to wear. It’s even a piece you’ll have a hard time doing without, as long as you choose the right one and avoid a few missteps!
How to choose your pants?
After wandering 10 shops in the city center last Saturday, I almost came home empty-handed. The stuff was too tight or too wide, pitiful falls, sizes too low, too rigid materials, shiny fabrics. Even at top brand, what a disappointment! Beautiful crepe fabric, but poorly centered button and not transcendent cut. Impeccable fit material and fit for both, but it’s not exactly cheap.
Black pants are not forgiving. As with all great classics, if the fabric does not fall well, or if the fiber has reflections, it is better to abstain because it can quickly look dated instead of stylish. Personally, I’m a fan of black crepe because it’s pleasant to the touch, its fluid so it slims, it doesn’t shine, and then it’s very feminine. The woolen cloth was very chic, perfect for cigarette cuts.
Unfortunately, this kind of timeless piece never goes on sale, except for models that are too old to avoid. You can surely find cheaper, you have to try a lot, persevere and above all have an eye.
Which cut for which morphology?
The trend is for high waists, and that’s pretty cool for our little bottles and / or cushions! You can opt for a wide leg, very elegant if the fabric is fluid, with a long drape over the shoe, or slightly above the ankle. Be careful, shorter, like a culottes skirt, it cuts the silhouette. Loose pants are particularly flattering if you have a slightly marked waist, even with curves.
The cigarette pants (straight leg with often the waist on the hips) are very nice if they are made of thin and supple cloth. It is better suited to rather slender silhouettes or H-shaped figure.
If you are petite or curvy, the high waist carrot pants for women are perfect for lengthening your leg.
The total black look
We all know that black is chic and it lengthens the silhouette! The total black look, even after 50 years is possible, provided you vary the materials to give relief and style (leather, muslin, wool, lace, varnished or suede accessories etc.). A total black look can also be easily sublimated by imposing jewelry with which we bring color or shine, and especially fantasy. Here I broke the total look with a sailor sweater.
